RPO is a Canberra-based company that designs and manufactures optical
polymer and application-specific waveguides for consumer electronics, telecoms
and datacoms.
Holding key patents, RPO is developing polymer optic waveguides for a new type optical touch sensor for flat panel displays that overcomes many of the weaknesses and drawbacks of currently-used touch screens. This technology has the potential of becoming the driver for the next generation of touch screens.
RPO has raised over US$ 9m in a Series B capital raising round. It is currently operating a pilot plant in the Innovations Building of the Australian National University and is discussing potential uses with multinational companies interested in the product.
