Hindmarsh has completed the project management of Stage 1 of this major project. The project involved a combination of special purpose and public buildings incorporating a state of the art laboratory facility including research support facilities and a public interface including display foyer, café and 200 seat theatre. The building makes an architectural statement with exciting facades including 3D digital relief precast concrete and dynamic structural stee/glass and aluminium features.

Stage 2 is now under construction.

Leading edge and award winning design and incorporation of ESD principles, this project involved a high level of detail and innovation.  The building façade is constructed mostly of glass, including flooring.  The heating system is geothermal and the timber finishing immaculate throughout.

Construction of a 620 seat capacity theatre.  The facility incorporates state of the art theatre technology where patrons are able to view productions from an auditorium and two elevated gallery levels.  The external finishes have a modern and exciting finish whilst internally the semi-circular theatre has great warmth and intimacy.  At the height of construction, the site employed up to 100 local tradespeople.

QANTAS Terminal, Canberra Airport
